Courteney Cox and David Arquette officially file for divorce
A marriage usually begins so perfectly. Sadly, many couples in Birmingham and elsewhere discover after some time that they can no longer remain married to their spouse. The decision to pursue a divorce is not an easy one to make. However, for some, it is the best option.
Courteney Cox and David Arquette were married in 1999. They are one of many Hollywood couples who have decided to call it quits.
In October 2010, the couple announced that they were separating. Recently, on what would have been their 13th wedding anniversary, the two filed divorce papers. They each site irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
The couple has an 8-year-old daughter together. Both have asked for joint legal and physical custody.
Going through a divorce can be difficult, especially when children are involved. Emotions often run high. However, Courteney Cox and David Arquette show that some divorces can be more peaceful than others. Throughout their separation they have remained friends. It appears that that both want to move forward with their lives and work to create a good life for their young daughter.
While the divorce between Cox and Arquette appears to be relatively simple, that is not always the case. Complicated issues can arise when a couple decides to end their marriage. They must settle property disputes and determine child custody. Child support and spousal support must also be determined.
Because so many important decisions must be made, it is often wise to work with an experienced divorce attorney. An attorney will help settle disagreements in a timely manner to allow each person to move forward with their new lives.
